Hana Cafe @ Tanjung Tokong, Penang

I have come across Hana Cafe when I was browsing for some new places to try out their food. The bingsu (Korean shaved ice) looks tempting and they are delicious. I have been there twice and I would love to go there again.

The dining area facing the main road of the cafe.
You can see Dalat International School opposite
the cafe and it is easy to locate the place.

Doraku Japanese Restaurant @ Sunway Perdana, Penang

I haven't been to Sunway Perdana for quite some time. Thus, my friend and I decided to go there to try some Japanese food and we have discovered something new.

Doraku is pretty new and I haven't been there. They have an elaborated menu with set meals that look tempting. Well, we had a pleasant dining experience there and I love the ambience too.

You can see unique decorations upon entering
the restaurant. It is pretty fascinating and lots
of details for you to discover at the same time.

Metisser Patisserie and Tea Room @ George Town, Penang

Metisser Patisserie and Tea Room is a French cafe which specialise in fine delicate patisseries (French pastries and cakes) and I would say that it is a posh cafe to indulge a relaxing afternoon tea.

It has a minimalist concept with white furniture and interesting artwork on the wall. The cafe manages to distinguish itself from the other conventional cafes where coffee and cakes are available. In my opinion, it is more like art appreciation since the patisseries are beautiful.

A selection of tea could be seen upon entering
the cafe. They are available for sales and I love
what I have tried.

Afternoon Tea (Tea for Two) @ Suffolk House, Penang

My friend and I had been planning for ages to dine at Suffolk House and we kept on delaying until
one day in March this year.  I was excited as we got to visit the colonial mansion which is also a restaurant for fine dining.

The high tea starts from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm and it is advisable to make a reservation earlier as you can't be sure if a table is available on that day. It would be a wasted trip and you have to pay for the entrance tickets.

The gate of Suffolk House.
You are only allowed to park outside the gate.
Besides, you need to purchase an entrance ticket
upon entering the building and it costs RM 20
per ticket. It is rather expensive but you
get to deduct it from the bill when you dine
at the restaurant.

Tasty Toasty @ Pulau Tikus, Penang

I spotted a new cafe when I drove pass Pulau Tikus the other day and I was delighted to check it out.

They do open in the morning at 8 am and it would be a good place for breakfast to kick start your day as they have a variety of toasts and buns to choose from. Breakfast set for the buns and toasts are available and they come with half boiled eggs if not mistaken.

The interior of the cafe which is simple.
I love that they still maintain the
original vintage tiles.

Mr Dakgalbi @ Gurney Plaza, Penang

I'm back!
After I have been away for ages due to new responsibilities at work and stuff.

I managed to check out Mr Dakgalbi which is newly opened in Gurney Plaza and I have been eyeing the outlet for quite some time as there will be a long line of queue during the weekends usually.

I went there on a week day before lunch hours kick in, so I got a place immediately and there were a few empty tables left.

I had the Cheese Ring Dakgalbi promotion set with my family and the cheese is very satisfying.

Besides, you will be served with korean appetiser, which consists of kimchi, shredded cabbage salad and picked daikon (white raddish).

The promotion for Cheese Ring Dakgalbi.
I had the medium promo set which costs
RM 76. It comes with a plate of noodles
(ramen) and rice each.

Christmas Lunch at Farquhar Mansion @ Lebuh Farquhar, Penang

We have been talking about a meal or high tea at Farquhar Mansion for a while and here we are at last after procrastinating for some time.

We made our reservation earlier and it costs RM30 per person which had been deducted when we foot the bill (Please remind the waiter or waitress in case they miss out the reservation fee in your bill). The service is good and the waiter, as well as waitress will tell us the ingredients of the dishes when they were served. The service is good and rather prompt and RM138 per person was actually worth it (before adding the miserable 6% of GST).

The dining area right after the entrance.
Love their chic yet sophisticated decoration.

Dong Hua Chinese Restaurant (東華飯店) @ Dongdaemun, Seoul (Korea)

I am back once again after taking a rather long break away from blogging.
Well, apart from taking a break from work, I did travel to Korea last week and I managed to sample something different, instead of having the same food that I have tried during my trip years ago.

I came across Dong Hua Chinese Restaurant (東華飯店) when I was looking for information online. Seems that they serve good jajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles) and most bloggers recommend travellers to give it a try. I saw some photos with Korean television channels printed on the photos at the entrance. Perhaps they have been to the restaurant for a review and I supposed the food should be good.

Pickled radish, onions and black bean sauce were served
prior serving the noodles. Water is provided too.

Nadeje @ Mahkota Parade, Malacca

I am a big fan of heavenly sweet adorable dessert and most of the time, I love them due to their unique presentation and colours. Too bad I do not have enough space in my tummy to shove everything in.^^

I have been to Malacca a few months back for a short getaway and my buddy suggested that I should give Nadeje's mille crepe a try because they have the finest layer cake or mille crepe. Well, we decided to go there for out late tea and I have fallen in love with them right now.

A selection of crepe at the counter.
Looks tempting ^^

The mille crepe is actually pretty thin and they
literally melt in your mouth instantly.
They are moist and the cream is spread
evenly on each layer.

I stumbled upon this cafe a few months ago and at last, my buddy and I made time to explore this place a few weeks ago. (Sorry, my hands are full lately. Hence, the slow updates...sigh)

They are a cafe, pet hotel and pet accessories shop which provide grooming as well. You are advised to sanitise your hand upon entering the cafe. I got to know it after reading the rules upon entering.

The cute decorations on display.
I was excited to check out the place!

Teddy Bear Cafe @ Terminal Pahlawan, Malacca

A few weeks' back, I went to Malacca with my buddy and it was a relaxing trip actually. We decided to check out the Teddy Bear Cafe which is in Terminal Pahlawan since we were staying at Astadia Hotel. The cafe can be reached easily by using the exit of the hotel, which is on the third floor of the building which links you to the mall. It is pretty convenient actually.

You can spot the cafe easily by seeing lots of adorable
teddy bears in front of the cafe. I was excited when I saw it!
More adorable corners for you to discover when
you go to the cafe. ^^

Maoz Cafe @ Raja Uda, Butterworth

They have some food on their menu, but mostly coffee. Plus, they do have kopi luwak in their menu, which is fascinating. I have yet tried it. Perhaps I should since I am pretty curious about the taste.

Brava Cafe @ Alma, Bukit Mertajam, Penang

Finally, I got to do some updating today after being away for months. I am rather busy with my work and I just can't make time to indulge in writing as much as I want.

Last Saturday, my friends and I decided to check out Brava Cafe, which is inside Chariton Hotel (Alma, BM). I was rather curious about the cafe since I pass by the hotel almost every day. So, here is what we have discovered!

Two Seven Coffee @ Icon City, BM.

One of my friend told me about Two Seven Coffee the other day at work and she recommended me to try their warm milk. Thus, I went there for a quick bite yesterday.

The cafe serves a variety of drinks and it would be a cool place for tea, cakes or a light meal. They do not have elaborated menu as they serve mostly finger foods (snacks and sandwiches). However, they still have main course (grilled chicken, tilapia, salmon,as well as Chicken Milanese), spaghetti (Arrabiata, Seafood Carbonara, Neapolitan and Aglio Olio), salad and mushroom soup. The photos of the menu was rather blur, you have to discover the food when you go there.

They have a few seats outdoors.
It is pretty easy to spot the cafe as it is located
next to Arnold Cycling Cafe.

Armor Restaurant @ Butterworth Business City Centre, Raja Uda

Please take note that this cafe is out of business

I enjoy talking to my buddies over meals and it is fun, especially after a hectic week of work.

Since I am still unfamiliar with the roads in Butterworth, my buddy brought me to the Business Centre, which is around Aroma Hotel to check out some of the restaurants or cafes there. Since we were starving, we decided to check out the set lunch at Armor Restaurant.

The set lunch menu, which is available from
12 noon to 3 pm.
Not sure if they have it on weekends.

The set lunch comes with a soup of the day and
ice-cream. Pretty cool. ^^

Winter Warmers @ Aeon Mall, Alma, BM

I have been to Winter Warmers a few times over the years and I have write about it a long time ago.
They have a few outlets in Penang and usually I frequent the one located in Gurney Plaza and Aeon Mall, Alma.

I decided to go there last week and stumbled upon their new set lunch menu. Well, I prefer to have my meals there on weekdays as there will be 20% off for food and beverages, as compared to weekends where you are entitled to have on 10% of discount. It is pretty worth it, in my opinion.
