Koffiehouz @ Auto City, Perai (Penang)

There are tons of cafe in BM and Perai lately and you do not need to go all the way to Penang Island for a cuppa. ^^ Instead of going to Icon City for coffee, my friends and I decided to check out Koffiehouz in Auto City.

Fresh Bite Asia Fusion @ Gurney Plaza, Penang

If you fancy rice and dishes instead of some other fancy restaurant, Fresh Bite can be an option for you when you are in Gurney Plaza. I just can't think of what to have last Saturday and my mom suggested to have our lunch there for a change.

You can spot the big logo outside the
restaurant. They have a pastry corner
too for take away.

Not so sure what they have there though.

Chun Cheon Dak Galbi @ Vantage, Tanjung Tokong, Penang

I've read a lot about this outlet and I just don't have a chance to check out the food until last week. I went there with my buddies and I was shocked to find out that the place was almost empty during lunch hour on a Saturday. Anyway, a few tables were occupied after we went it for a while. XD

It is located on the first floor of Vantage (towards the
right of the building if you come from Gurney Drive).
You will see the colourful wordings, with the Chinese
Words 春川. Too bad that I forgotten to take a photo of it.

The Lawn Cafe @ Eco World (Eco Terraces), Penang

I came across glass house cafes in KL and JB (Palladium Cafe), which is located in Eco World as a part of their new project and I was pretty interested. ^^

However, I was surprised when I got to know from my buddy that they have a similar cafe in Eco Terraces, which is located in Paya Terubung. The one in Penang is known as the Lawn Cafe. If you were a big fan of Jay Chou, you would be interested to check out the cafe as the one featured in the Handwritten Past MV is similar as the Lawn Cafe,

Nara @ Japan Summer 13

If you are a big fan of deer and ancient architecture which which is a part of Unesco's heritage, Nara would be a great place for you to visit. XD

We took a train from Namba (Osaka) via the Kintetsu Railway to reach there. You will reach Higashimuki Shopping Street Arcade easily by taking one of the exit of Nara's Kintetsu Train Station.

Link of Kintetsu Railway: Kintetsu Corporation

Not sure if this is Sarusawa-ike pond. XD
This pond is located beside the road which can be seen
on the way to Kofuku-ji from the shopping arcade.

Lovely scenery of the summer's day.

Mulgogi Dessert @ Sunway Carnival Mall, Seberang Jaya, Penang

I saw this similar fish ice-cream on Instagram and FB a few time. It is tempting and the ice-cream looks cute. ^^ I was dying to try until I managed to start going back to gym at Sunway Carnival Mall after a few months of insanity in studying. XD

Mulgogi can be spotted easily with the adorable
fish painting and the sweet coat of pink paint.

The dessert corner looks sweet and lovely.
It will attract girls easily, me included, no doubt. ^^

Parkroyal Seafood Buffet Dinner (Saturday Night) @ Tamarind Brasserie, Parkroyal, Penang

I need to thank my dear bro for giving me and my mom a threat since he won two vouchers for a Saturday Seafood Buffet Dinner at Parkroyal Penang's Tamarind Brasserie!

Well, I went there 3 weeks ago. There are a variety of seafood and it is worth the money if you were to dine there. Since there were diners around the buffet table, it was tricky for me to snap photos. (Would be rude for me to go around with my phone or camera while people are taking their food.)

Among the dishes are dim sum, steamed buns, boneless chicken with Nyonya sauce (crispy and yummy), tiger prawns, seafood tom yum, curry kapitan and sotong kunyit (turmeric squid), to name a few. Just surprise yourself as they change their menu from time to time and they were not the same as what I have read from other blogs before my dinner. :D I was too excited! Need to have a sneak peek on what I would be having. Hehe.

The dining area facing the beach.
A great spot to enjoy the view while dining.

Guang Xi Coffee House (廣西咖啡屋) @ Bukit Mertajam Market (Pek Gong Cheng)

I have been to Pek Gong Cheng (伯公埕) several times when I was a kid and  last year, my friend brought me there for 'koay chap 粿汁' (a Teochew delicacy which comes with broad rice noodles with pork and offal perhaps). Thus, I came across Guang Xi Coffee House when I went there and I saw a crowd waiting for a spot for breakfast. I gave up waiting and last Saturday, I was fortunate enough to go there again XD

The coffee shop is located behind the temple of Pek Gong Cheng (伯公埕) which is within the BM market. The place can be rather congested at times and perhaps arriving there for breakfast or lunch earlier helps you to secure a parking space.

A big signboard with Chinese words '廣西咖啡屋' can be found towards the entrance of the coffee shop. I forgotten to take a photo of the entrance since I was still kinda sleepy, even after my coffee. (Oh gosh...oh my!) Well, I managed to locate their FB page, which will be helpful for you to locate the hidden shop. There is a Hokkien Mee stall in front of the shop. You won't miss it.

The drink preparation counter.
I was lucky as there were ample empty seats
when we reached at 9am on Saturday.

Brussels Beer Cafe (Set Lunch) @ Gurney Paragon Mall, Penang

I have been walking past this outlet for millions of time since I always hang out at Gurney Drive. So on Christmas, my family and I decided to go there for lunch. Well, I didn't pay attention to the Christmas menu and tried the set lunch instead. (They should have something special for Christmas, should have asked the waiter).

It is a restaurant which serves Belgium cuisine and beer, since I saw lots of people drinking there, be it rain or shine. ^^

The set menu of the week.
We were required to choose from Menu B, plus
chef's special for that week. They have different sets of
menu every week.
The set lunch promotion is affordable.
I will try the other items on the menu next time.

If you want to go nuts about coconut, then, going to Sangkaya for some refreshments! :D

Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop (正斗) @ Gurney Paragon Mall, Penang

I have heard about this restaurant before they opened an outlet in Penang during my trip to Hong Kong. But, as usual, too many things to explore and food to try. Alas!

Back to this noodle restaurant, I read online that the IFC outlet in Hong Kong obtained Michelin's Bib Gourmet award this year, which is pretty awesome. And also, it is great to have Tasty here for use to sample some Hong Kong delicacies.

You won't miss the sign and it is pretty easy to locate the restaurant.
You can reach the restaurant via the entrance beside
Jurlique at Level 5.

The restaurant is located just a floor below Penang on 6.
